Inclusion & Belonging
At Greenheart Productions, we believe theatre flourishes when every person feels welcome, valued, and at home in the creative process. Our commitment to inclusion and belonging is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and the belief that diverse voices and lived experiences strengthen every story we tell.
We work to create spaces where artists and audiences:
-
Feel respected for who they are
-
See themselves represented onstage and behind the scenes
-
Have equitable access to creative opportunities
-
Can share their ideas, questions, and truths without fear of dismissal or harm
How We Practice This
-
Intentional Storytelling: We choose work that invites dialogue, reflects a breadth of perspectives, and contributes meaningfully to the cultural conversation.
-
Inclusive Artistic Practices: Our rehearsal rooms are built on mutual respect, transparency, and care. We welcome artists of all races, genders, identities, abilities, ages, and backgrounds.
-
Equitable Collaboration: We work to offer fair compensation to our artists and strive toward transparent, inclusive decision-making in all aspects of our work.
-
Continuous Learning: This work is ongoing. We listen, learn, and adapt as we grow, recognizing that inclusion and belonging require steady tending, much like the Greenheart tree itself.
Where We Are Now
Greenheart Productions is a young and growing company. At this stage in our development, our organizational leadership is an all-volunteer team, dedicated artists and collaborators who give their time and expertise because they believe deeply in this work.
Even in our early phase, we prioritize paying the artists who bring our productions and readings to life.
As we continue to expand our programming and community partnerships, we are thoughtfully building our internal structure with the same care and intention that guide our artistic choices.
Our Promise
We aim to cultivate a creative home where individuals not only feel invited in, but feel truly rooted — able to bring their whole selves, their artistry, and their perspectives to the work. When people feel they belong, the art deepens, the conversation widens, and the community grows stronger.
